Creating a Photo-Encaustic piece

I have been experimenting with encaustic on my photos to give them a more textured, painterly look.  The results have been fabulous !

Beach Studio Tour

                                  

Last weeks' Beach Studio Tour was a success !  I was happy to see loads of people coming through, commenting and buying my photographs.  Co-artist, handbag designer, Jane Saracino was great to have with me for my first tour.  We had a great time !

Just over a year and a half ago, when I decided to take this whole Fine Art Photography thing seriously, I thought it would be so great to be in The Beach Studio Tour. Well, I'm in ! I am really happy and grateful to have been chosen for this Fall's tour and not only do I get to show my work, but get to meet some great artists as well. After hearing Freeman Patterson speak, I bought his book, "The Art of Seeing for Photographers" and decided to do an exercize he recommended for improving creativity: Shoot everything from your pet's eye level. These images are all from the perspective of my 2 cats, Brodie and Mickey

The Cross Canada journey is complete... I travelled a total of 3972 km in all kinds of weather... sun, wind, rain, sleet and snow. It went well, although it was a long drive alone. The north shore of Superior is really remote... and although beautiful, the hotels, restaurants and gas stations are few and far between ! Glad to be home.
